I’m going for May’s glorious paeonies for my selection today, complete with a blurry bumblebee. These blowsy beauties are all too fleeting and are pretty dull for the rest of the year when not in bloom, but I love the sight and the smell of them and I wouldn’t be without them. just looking at those glowing colours brightens my day.

Ooh yes, something else to look forward to – peony flowers and bumble bees! Gorgeous pink!
Often paeonies are reluctant to flower if the crowns are planted too deep or they are heavily covered in mulch or something – they’re also relatively hungry feeders, mine get a liberal sprinkling of blood, fish and bone during the growing season 😊

Peonies are fabulous though I suspect they wouldn’t last in my exposed and windy garden. I shall enjoy yours instead.

My Peonies weren’t very happy last year, I didn’t get as many blooms as the year before. Perhaps I should look into feeding them.
